Lady Ashley presents: Tycoonstress

We all want to achieve runaway success, but first we must maintain psycho-sexual balance. It’s a basic principle and one we explore in the cinematic series Tycoonstress: SXIVM. Like many of my clips, SXIVM is more than just an erotic movie. It has blossomed into a true FemDom cult. From the desire to create a story about a ruthless businesswoman developed an entire school of thought, a system of principles and a customized list of vocabulary. In perhaps my most esoteric series to date, I engage the participant in the intriguing world of mental domination, open doors of male submission and foster community growth. Indeed, Tycoonstress: SXIVM is a self-improvement sex cult that you can join.

The penis-themed icons seen throughout the series were created for the website. I’ve been making different logos for a couple of my ‘series and my graphic art skills have slowly improved. It was fun to create custom pieces to add a touch of personality and another layer to the tycoon aesthetic.

This series isn’t exclusive to indoctrinating new members into my self-help sex cult, SXIVM. It’s also in celebration of the greedy tycoons of the 19th century, hence the name Tycoonstress. The stylistic choices for the series highlight the era, most notably in the time-stained lighting. An orange haze was chosen to represent the real-life impact of smoking cigars – since this little lady always has a Cuban in her delicate fingers as a trophy and example of her power. The thick layer effect was created with a brown filter on the spotfill, enhanced by orange tube lights on either side. This lighting was used for all four clips, however I wanted to contrast it for footage exclusive to the intro sequence of the full-length feature. An alternate set was used, which included icy lighting made with a blue cover on the spotfill and light blue tube lights. This bright and crisp set draws a distinction between the humble start-up and the growing enterprise the Tycoonstress runs today.

Other items that show our Tycoonstress is a businesswoman at the helm of her empire are the glass desk, sleek decor, and pyramid scheme print-outs from Wealth Management. The main set, where the four modules were filmed, is a bit more dynamic and really illustrates the increased funding to the network. The set grows with exotic and expensive artifacts as the Tycoonstress develops the reputation of SXIVM and increases her wealth. She starts humbly with a green, leather chair, a wooden table and a business phone. Module by module, her success is clearly proven because more curiosities adorn her office to the point where jungle plants and gold statues frame her petite figure. The trick to filming this changing set was to start with all the furniture in place and work my way to emptying the room. That meant filming the final clip of the series first and finishing when she began her quest in a near-empty room.

Outfits are another evolution of the Tycoonstress as she takes more money from her clients. Layers of clothing are added over time, showing off the success of SXIVM. At the start, she wears a shift dress with silver flats at the end of her bare legs. As members join the sex cult and more money is collected, the Tycoonstress is able to pair tights with a dress and shoes. Funding increases and she’s able to buy a blazer to wear with her shirt dress, pantyhose and sandals. By the final module, she’s settled into her role as a mogul in printed trousers, a button shirt and seersucker jacket – mixed prints for extra audacity. Only in her crisp and bright office does the Tycoonstress slip back into an elegant outfit of gold consisting of a silk blouse, jacquard skirt and Champaign nylons. Always professional and dressed for success, no detail is disregarded.

Looking back, it’s funny that the series ended up becoming a self-improvement sex cult. As many ideas, it started as just a name. Tycoonstress was fun to say and opened up the imagination. But beyond the basic notion of a tycoon being greedy, there wasn’t much at the beginning. One thinks of many things when the word “tycoon” is uttered, and many of those things aren’t innately sexy. I think of the late 1800s and the corrupt businessmen Teddy Roosevelt had to set straight. However, the consistent trait in a tycoon that could be brought to the fetish clip world is the element of scheming and scamming. As it happened, I had run a full course in scam studies for the FinDom series Wealth Management.

Of all the types of schemes and scams I researched, cults became an interest. Many people have tried to make cult clips before and I knew I didn’t want to make a typical “I’m a goddess and now you’re in my cult. Worship me, weakling!” clip that we see so much of. If I was going to make a cult clip, I was going to make a cult. A real, actual cult. One with a mission and rules. One that leads people down a narrow path, isolating them from other porn. One that benefited me. As it turned out, there was an extensive documentary on a recent cult that provided a lot of inspiration. NXIVM, the Keith Raniere and Nancy Salzman sex cult that included elements of self-help, brainwashing and sex was perfect. SXIVM isn’t exactly modeled after NXIVM, but similarities include having a tight structure, a circular web of logic, invented vocabulary and psychological objectives – all with the aim of benefiting the leader.

Of course the music for such a complex system of modules must enhance the atmosphere of intrigue. Pensive and moody layers underscore the complexity of the program while tight beats keep focus sharp. New cult members are whisked away on a musical odyssey, starting with an eerie introduction, followed by hypnotic hums, and continuing with musical arrangements befitting each module. Unique compositions, from thoughtful to electrified and curious to dangerous, give each module a life of its own. It takes hours of programming and recording to capture the sounds that make each series polished and professional. This is just one more detail that immerses the viewer in my world of FemDom allure and playful deceit. Taking over the senses with powerful images and sounds pushes out distractions and really allows the new member to learn the ways of the SXIVM.

Tycoonstress is more than a series. It’s greater than a concept. This is a real cult experience. You’ve been curious about cults. Maybe you feel confident it could never be you. But now there’s SXIVM.
