Lady Ashley Presents: Obedient October

It’s that time of year again! No, not the inferior Locktober – though each of my upcoming clips will work within your chastity regimen. Obedient October is being observed for the seventh year in a row. This annual tradition started in 2018 – the magical year that set my evolution in motion. Obedient October is much more than an alliterative monthly title, the likes of which I had already been coming up with for years. This was the very first month I focused my clips on a specific theme and made my earliest, albeit loosest, true series. The theme was Female Domination, an obvious choice. And like all of my work, over the subsequent years it transformed into something bigger and has now taken on a life of its own.

Obedient October is a mainstay of OLA. If I’m repeating something, it’s because I had fun the first time and I feel that there’s room to explore further. Year one of Obedient October was groundbreaking for establishing the structure of my future content, but it wasn’t overly innovative. However with each year that followed, I tried something new or added another layer to the production. Slowly and steadily, the tradition was being established.

2019 was year two of Obedient October and the first time I had enough forethought and planning to wear all-black outfits for each clip. It was a small detail, but it tied the clips together in a way they never were before. In 2020, after being inspired by a month of JOI July black light clips I had just filmed, I decided to wear all white outfits and use UV lighting to create a seasonal, ghostly glow. 2021 saw my return to all-black outfits, but I experimented with dynamic, bold lighting. The contrast of dark ensembles and colorful light shows really made my FemDom clips pop. 2022 was my third year wearing all-black, so I was extra-adventurous in selecting accessories and costume pieces to complete each unique look. That year I was also experimenting with sets and hung crystal prisms from hooks to add the elements of elegance and danger to the clips. The singular outfits and well-placed props gave Obedient October ’22 a fresh and polished look. In 2023 I went deeper into set dressing and turned the film space into a cemetery-like scene of pillars and black candles that I describe as “ruinsey”. I wore unique all-black outfits and created a lesson plan to train men into submissive worshipers through a course of focused sacrifices.

Now here we are in 2024 with another Obedient October upon us. I bet you’re wondering what’s a girl to do when she’s already experimented so much under the same theme and outfit color? Well, re-imagine things, of course! This year I went heavy into the BDSM side of obedience. I repurposed a dog crate as a slave’s quarters. I collected an assortment of whips and restraints. Lucky Bastard designed and made a toy display prop. And of course I wore all-black outfits in an all-new way.

Initially, I wanted to wear only leather, but like many productions, OLA has a budget. It was going to cost an awful lot to buy a leather bikini, let alone a leather catsuit. The obvious economic option was vegan leather, but to do things right and portray myself as a tough and strict dungeon domina, I couldn’t exactly wear cheap, textured plastic and pass as genuine. So, a less expensive yet still rockin’ alternative was chosen: mesh. The wardrobe department already had a few pieces, like some bra and panty sets, bedazzled gloves and a blouse. But I needed to make five outfits. I was able to source mesh leggings and a swimsuit, as well as a dancer’s skirt from Amazon and a hand-made skater dress from Etsy. I had a lot of fun putting together playful and commanding sheer ensembles and I could go on about my favorites and why, but there is so much more to Obedient October 24 than hot looks.

Lady Ashley, whip-in-hand.

A gimbal and dog cage were crucial to capturing the shots that gave the dungeon aesthetic. Lucky Bastard, a man of no small size, laid on the floor and half-inside of the cage. He angled the camera up at my face and we recorded POV segments that immerse the viewer in his role as my submissive slave. More gimbal footage was recorded, swooping into the cage and then around my body. These shots swirl together in post-production to create an atmospheric introduction to each feature presentation. The esoteric pacing and sweeping angles really set these clips apart from ordinary FemDom POV offerings.

A dog cage says Domme, but it only goes so far to make up the contents of a convincing dungeon. With a limited budget and just enough time, a crafty solution to fill the empty space was executed. I already had a couple of different whips and a set of leather cuffs. A few more inexpensive, black BDSM toys were acquired and I had myself a little collection. But a way to display them was needed – and it had to be cheap and quick. Lucky Bastard came to the rescue again! He designed a way to show each toy by attaching black hooks to a piece of wood that was spray-painted black. He drilled holes in the wooden rack so it can hang from sleek, black chains attached to the ceiling hooks. The result was a perfect mix of rugged and industrial that enhanced the dungeon aesthetic and filled an empty space.

With a minimalist set, monochromatic outfits and traditional FemDom themes, lighting was decidedly key to capturing a dynamic atmosphere. It was planned that each clip would have a stunning display – some purely rich in color, some dazzling to daze, and each of their own customized hue. Bold pink paints the set for a sensual body worship. Flashes of green and white trigger a FinDom frenzy. Pulsing shades of blue help to obey with every breath. I wanted it to feel intense like a rock concert, with every clip having thoughtful lighting to overpower the senses.

Light shows and black mesh aren’t the only rockin’ features of this year’s Obedient October. The music is on-point, too. Edgy clips need a tough soundtrack that provides a potent atmosphere. Layers of powerful beats, hidden melodies and mysterious ambiance compliment my soft and commanding vocal tones. As always, the music is human-made, using real instruments and professional software. And if you listen closely to this series, you might just recognize some familiar signatures of a world-famous rock composer.

There’s a nice view in store for those who obey.

Obedient October was the final series I filmed last season. It was a departure from all of the story-driven cinematic scenes I had just created. I was temporarily back to making basic-style clips, but this is my twelfth year of making FemDom content and sixth year of polishing my productions. After honing my skills and experimenting for more than a decade, I simply cannot make a basic clip anymore.

A little bit of crafting. Some outfit improvisation. Relying on learned skills and my naturally dominant personality. These are some of the elements that went into creating Obedient October ’24. I’m almost done planning Obedient October ’25. It will kick off my film season this November, so you can keep an eye on my social media and get a glimpse of what I have in store for you next year. In the meantime, check Obey.LA for the complete release schedule for Obedient October 24.
